We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Chef to join our team at our busy artisan bakery café in Coolum Beach, Sunshine Coast.
This is a great opportunity for a chef who enjoys working with fresh, quality ingredients, creating delicious café food and being part of a friendly, hands-on team.
About the role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day preparation and service of our café menu, working closely with our bakery and front-of-house teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
● Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch dishes
● Preparing fresh salads, fillings, sauces and other café components
● Creating and developing seasonal menu items
● Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
● Managing food preparation and kitchen organisation
● Ensuring food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained
● Monitoring stock levels and minimising food wastage
● Working efficiently during busy service periods
● Helping with menu costing and portion control
● Supporting and working collaboratively with the wider bakery café team
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
● Has commercial kitchen experience
● Is passionate about good food and quality ingredients
● Can work independently and take ownership of the kitchen
● Has excellent organisation and time-management skills
● Works well under pressure
● Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic
● Takes pride in cleanliness and presentation
● Enjoys working as part of a small, close-knit team
● Is interested in developing and contributing ideas to our menu
Chef qualifications are preferred but experience and the right attitude are equally important.
