Simply Helping Brisbane South is looking for reliable, practical and hardworking Support Workers with experience or confidence in domestic cleaning, gardening and/or basic handyman work to join our growing local team.

We provide personalised in-home support to older Australians and people living with disability, helping them maintain a safe, comfortable and independent home environment.

About the role

You will provide support to clients across Brisbane South, including areas such as MacGregor, Sunnybank, Calamvale, Runcorn, Mount Gravatt and surrounding suburbs.

Depending on your skills and experience, your work may include:

- General household cleaning, including bathrooms, kitchens, vacuuming, mopping and dusting

- Laundry and other domestic assistance

- General gardening and basic yard maintenance

- Weeding, pruning, watering and garden tidy-ups

- Lawn mowing and other light gardening tasks where appropriate

- Basic handyman tasks and minor household maintenance

- Simple assembly, repairs and other practical household tasks within your skills and scope

You do not need to be experienced in all three areas. We welcome applicants who are particularly skilled in cleaning, gardening, handyman work, or a combination of these.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently

- Practical and willing to get hands-on

- Experienced in cleaning, gardening and/or basic handyman work

- Respectful and comfortable working in clients' homes





- Able to communicate well with older adults and people living with disability

- Adaptable and able to work with the household, gardening and basic maintenance tools available at each client's home

- Able to assess what can be safely completed with the tools and equipment provided

- Willing to travel between clients across Brisbane South

A Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or similar is welcome but not essential. Applicants without a formal care qualification are encouraged to apply if they have relevant cleaning, gardening, maintenance or other practical experience.

- Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle

- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

- NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Working With Children Check / Blue Card

- Australian working rights
