Muse Events & Catering is looking for an organised, practical and proactive Operations & Venue Manager to join our growing, family-owned events business.

We deliver weddings, corporate events and private celebrations across Melbourne and regional Victoria, alongside operating our own private venue, The Chandlery in Port Melbourne.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is physically capable and can confidently take ownership of the people, equipment, stock and logistics required to deliver exceptional events.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working directly with the owners and alongside our Event Manager and kitchen leadership team, you will oversee:

- Event operations and logistics
- FOH staffing and weekly rosters
- Event pack-outs, bump-ins and bump-outs
- The operational readiness of The Chandlery
- Beverage ordering and stock management
- Equipment, vehicles, suppliers and external hires
- FOH leadership, recruitment and training
- Labour and operational cost control
- Venue maintenance and compliance
- Event checklists, systems and procedures
- Operational leadership at key events

This is not a desk-bound corporate role. You’ll need to be comfortable planning ahead, leading from the floor and solving problems calmly when circumstances change.

ABOUT YOU

You may currently be a Venue Manager, Functions Manager, Restaurant Manager, Catering or Event Operations Manager, Hospitality Manager or experienced Event Supervisor ready to step up.

You’ll ideally have:

- Strong hospitality, venue, catering or events experience
- Experience leading FOH or event teams
- Rostering and labour-management experience
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Experience managing stock,



suppliers or equipment
- Commercial awareness around labour and operating costs
- Strong communication and independent decision-making skills
- A calm, solutions-focused approach
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends when required
- Excellent communication is essential

PACKAGE

$85,000 + superannuation, plus eligibility for a performance bonus of up to 5% of base salary.

This is a full time hospitality management role. Some evening and weekend work will be required, with hours planned sensibly around the events calendar.
