About G&M; AV

G&M; AV (part of G&M; Event Group) is a Brisbane-based event production and entertainment company delivering corporate events, conferences, awards nights, weddings, school events, private functions and other live events across South East Queensland.

We are continuing to grow our Corporate AV division and are looking for reliable, motivated people to join our casual AV team.

Whether you already have experience working in live events or are looking to develop your technical skills, we would love to hear from you.

The role

As part of our Corporate AV Team, you will help deliver live events from load-in through to pack-down.

Depending on your experience and the requirements of each event, your work may include:

- Loading and unloading event equipment
- Setting up and packing down audio, lighting, vision and staging equipment
- Running and managing power, audio, video and data cabling
- Setting up PA systems, microphones and digital audio consoles
- Setting up event lighting and lighting control systems
- Setting up TV screens, projectors and LED walls
- Setting up cameras, video switching and presentation systems
- Assisting with system testing and event preparation
- Operating AV equipment during live corporate events
- Troubleshooting technical issues during setup and events
- Working directly with Event Managers, clients, presenters and other technicians

You do not need experience in every area of AV.

We are happy to train people who have the right attitude, aptitude and willingness to learn. Applicants with existing experience in audio, lighting, vision,



staging or live-event production may be allocated more technical roles based on their demonstrated skills and competency.

When we work

Our events operate seven days per week, although most of our Corporate AV work takes place Monday to Friday.

Many shifts are during the day, however live events do not always run to standard business hours.

You need to be comfortable with a flexible production schedule that can include:

- Early morning starts
- Daytime events
- Evening and late-night finishes
- Long event days
- Occasional weekend work

Casual hours will vary depending on our event schedule and your availability.

What we're looking for

You will need to be:

- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Comfortable performing physical, labour-intensive work including lifting and moving event equipment
- Well presented and professional when working around clients and venues
- Careful with equipment and attentive to detail
- Able to work proactively without needing constant supervision
- Comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- A solid communicator with good interpersonal skills
- Calm and practical when problems need to be solved
- Willing to learn new equipment, systems and technical skills
- Focused on getting the job completed properly and efficiently

Some previous AV or live-event experience is highly regarded,



so please include any relevant experience in your application.

Transport and licence

Our team is based at Park Ridge South, and you will need reliable transport to get to and from our warehouse and event locations.

A current open Queensland driver's licence is preferred, with a manual licence particularly useful, but this is not essential for every position.

A good driving record is also highly regarded.

- Stagehand work
- Rigging
- Event warehousing

Also useful: a time machine or teleportation device.
