About The Company
Our client is an Auckland based game studio focused on creating deep, engaging player experiences supported by complex systems and regular content updates. The team values thoughtful collaboration, technical excellence, and practical decision making. Quality is treated as a shared responsibility throughout development, not something checked at the finish line.
The Role
You will take ownership of quality across a live Unity game featuring dozens of characters, abilities, and interconnected systems.
You will lead the QA team, define the studio’s quality strategy, and identify where automation, exploratory testing, and player focused testing will have the greatest impact.
Working closely with Engineering, Design, Production, and Leadership, you will help improve testability throughout development, maintain confidence in automated testing, and ensure results are reliable and useful.
You will own QA triage and support release decisions by helping teams understand risk, prioritise issues, and make informed decisions about patches, updates, and current content.
You will also improve QA tools, workflows, and reporting, manage the relationship with an outsourced QA partner, and coach teams to build stronger quality practices across the studio.
This is an onsite role in Auckland, NZ.
Visas are not supported for this role but relocation from within NZ and Australia are.
