- Be close enough to the operation to feel it, senior enough to shape it
- Monthly RDOs giving you an extra 12 days of leave per year
- Permanent full-time, hybrid role located at our Beenleigh or Ipswich offices
Safety doesn't sit in a policy document. It lives in the decisions leaders make every day — and your job is to make sure they make good ones.
As a Safety Partner at Kanda, you'll embed yourself in your assigned business stream and become the person leaders turn to when it matters. Not just for compliance — but for practical, honest advice that helps them lead safely and confidently. You'll build the kind of credible relationships that mean problems get raised before they escalate, risks get owned before they become incidents, and safety becomes part of how the team thinks — not just something that gets reviewed after the fact.
It's close enough to the operation to feel the work. Senior enough to shape how it's done.
What you'll be doing
- Building trusted relationships with leaders across your business stream, coaching them to own their safety obligations and fulfil their due diligence responsibilities
- Providing pragmatic, risk-based advice that enables safe operations without losing sight of operational realities
- Planning and conducting audits, inspections and risk assessments — tracking corrective actions through to closure
- Leading incident investigations using ICAM or equivalent, identifying systemic causes and sharing lessons learned
- Leading proactive safety programs including critical risk management, hazard identification and health and wellbeing initiatives
- Analysing leading and lagging indicators and translating insights into targeted action
- Preparing safety performance reports and contributing to enterprise-wide safety strategy and standards
You're the right person if...
- You hold a Certificate IV or higher in Work Health & Safety with demonstrated experience in a safety advisory or partnering role (within healthcare or community services is a bonus)
- You have sound knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice
- You have hands-on experience in incident investigation — ICAM or equivalent
- You build credibility at every level and coach leaders with confidence
- You analyse safety data well and turn insights into practical action
- You hold a current Driver's Licence, Working with Children Check and are willing to travel to operational sites
