Acute Private Inpatient Mental Health Care

Provides psychiatric assessment and treatment for people requiring hospital-based mental health care, including:

- Mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder)
- Anxiety disorders
- Trauma and PTSD
- Psychosis
- Addictions and substance use disorders
- Complex mental health presentations requiring inpatient treatment

Day Programs and Community Programs

Structured therapeutic programs delivered without requiring full inpatient admission, supporting recovery and ongoing treatment in the community.

Neurostimulation Services

Advanced treatment options are available alongside traditional psychiatric therapies, including neurostimulation-based interventions for treatment-resistant mental illness such as ECT and Esketamine.

Women's Recovery Network (WREN) Public Private Partnership

A specialist partnership between Ramsay, GV Health and Bayside Health to provide a public women’s unit delivered at Albert Road. WREN offers:

- General Adult Women's Mental Health

- Perinatal Mental Health
- Eating Disorders Program
- Hospital in the Home (HITH) Program

Adolescent Programs

Programs designed specifically for young people and adolescents. Internal clinical procedures reference a dedicated adolescent unit.

Older Adult / Senior Mental Health Programs

Specialised programs for older adults experiencing mental health difficulties.

Job Description





We are seeking Casual Registered Mental Health Nurses to support across all the units and programs at Ramsay Clinic Albert Road. In this role you will provide high quality, person centred and trauma informed care. This involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support the delivery of safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care across a range of programs. The role requires flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster and contribute to a positive and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.

Skills and Experience

Essential

- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated experience in a mental health setting, including inpatient, community, or acute care services.
- Sound knowledge of mental state assessment, risk assessment, and recovery-oriented practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients and carers.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong time management, organisational, and clinical prioritisation skills.
- Commitment to delivering protected, high-quality, person-centred care.
- Ability to respond appropriately to clinical deterioration, mental health crises, and behavioural disturbances.
- Competence in medication administration and clinical documentation.
- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster, including weekends, nights, and public holidays.

Desirable

- Postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing or current enrolment in postgraduate studies.
- Experience working with women’s mental health, perinatal mental health, eating disorders, addictions, or adolescent mental health.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.




- Experience using electronic medical record systems and incident reporting systems.
