AZ Metals is a leading Sydney-based metal balustrades company with over 25 years of industry experience, specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of premium architectural metalwork for residential, commercial and industrial projects. Our work includes stainless steel, aluminium and glass fabrication, delivering high-quality, custom-built solutions across Sydney.

Due to continued business growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our team.

About the role

As a Welder/Fabricator, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality architectural metalwork in our workshop. Working from detailed shop drawings, you will fabricate a range of custom products while ensuring all work meets our high standards of quality and accuracy.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in delivering precision fabrication and enjoys working on a diverse range of projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Fabricate and assemble stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel products.

- Perform MIG and TIG welding to a high standard.

- Read and interpret workshop drawings and fabrication plans.

- Measure, cut, drill, grind and prepare materials for fabrication.

- Ensure all work is completed accurately and within project timeframes.

- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.

- Operate fabrication machinery and workshop equipment safely.

- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.

- Work collaboratively with the drafting, estimating and installation teams.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience as a Welder / Fabricator.

- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel.

- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.

- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.

- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship.

- Excellent problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

- Trade qualification in Engineering – Fabrication trade or equivalent (desirable)

- Experience fabricating balustrades, handrails, gates, fences or structural steel (desirable)

- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)

- Current driver’s license
