Phillip Riley is seeking a Stakeholder Associate to join an experienced and well-backed international offshore wind developer, supporting stakeholder engagement and communications for a major offshore wind project.
Based in Melbourne, this role will play an significant part in building and maintaining trusted relationships as the project progresses through development.
About the role
- Develop and implement a fit-for-purpose local Stakeholder Engagement Plan;
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with local, regional and national stakeholders to support the successful development of the project;
- Act as a key point of contact for local stakeholders;
- Work closely with the project team and external consultants to coordinate stakeholder engagement throughout the environmental and permitting process;
- Develop communications strategies to build and maintain the project's reputation with government, regulatory, community and media stakeholders;
- Create content across various communications channels to effectively reach target audiences;
- Manage local media and public relations activities in coordination with global communications leaders;
- Coordinate events and local initiatives to increase project visibility and engagement;
- Support meaningful engagement with First Nations groups, working with internal teams and external specialists;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date stakeholder engagement records.
About you
- Degree-level qualifications in Communications, Engagement, PR, Journalism, External Affairs or a related discipline;
- 2–4 years of experience in stakeholder, community or communications-focused roles;
- Experience within infrastructure, energy, utilities, environmental consulting or a similarly complex project environment would be highly regarded;
- Experience engaging with First Nations communities and/or fisheries would be advantageous, but is not essential;
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills;
- Comfortable operating autonomously while collaborating with teams across different geographies and time zones;
- Willingness to undertake regional travel as required;
- Full Australian Work Rights.
