ABOUT THIS ROLE

Our client is an established organisation operating within the Australian Defence industry, providing specialised technical solutions and ongoing support to Defence. They are currently seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join their Sydney-based team in a permanent position.

This is a hands-on technical role involving the maintenance, fault finding, repair and commissioning of advanced electronic equipment. You will work across both workshop and field environments, supporting equipment throughout its service life.

The role would be particularly well suited to a current or former Navy Electronics Technician looking to transition into the Defence industry or continue their career in a hands-on technical environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on electronic equipment.
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance activities.
- Support field-based maintenance and commissioning activities.
- Assist with technical investigations and complex repair tasks.
- Read and interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings.
- Complete maintenance, repair and associated Defence documentation.




- Work closely with engineering and technical teams to support ongoing Defence capability.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

- Trade qualification in Electronics, Communications, Avionics or a related discipline.
- Previous hands-on experience maintaining and repairing electronic equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Previous ADF or Defence industry experience would be highly regarded.
- Navy Electronics Technician backgrounds are particularly desirable, including experience across Communications, Fire Control or Systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving.
- Australian Citizenship and eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance.
