We currently have an exciting prospect to join our Quality Team as Management Systems Lead on a permanent full time basis.
About Us
Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA) provides an essential service, connecting regional Australia to national and international markets as a specialist port catering to boutique and diverse operations.
MWPA operates seven (7) commercial berths and critical marine and land assets which enables the facilitation of trade for the Mid West region, exporting a variety of products including iron ore, grains, mineral sands, non-mineral sands and mineral concentrates. The Port also imports fuel, fertiliser and break bulk cargo. The Port of Geraldton also encompasses the Geraldton Fishing Boat Harbour (FBH), home to Geraldton’s fishing industry. The FBH provides significant opportunities for further development of the Port and activation of a thriving commercial and leisure industry hub.

About the Role
This role leads the strategic direction and ongoing maturity of Mid West Ports Authority's (MWPA) Management Systems, lifting operational performance, customer and stakeholder outcomes, and organisational capability through structured problem solving, standard work, data-driven decision making, and a continuous improvement culture.
The role ensures MWPA's management systems remain effective, fit for purpose, and aligned to certification and best-practice requirements, while improving safety, reliability, cost, and customer experience. This includes setting direction for performance improvement, change governance,
corrective action management, performance monitoring and reporting frameworks, and supporting digital workflow solutions.
The role works in close partnership with the Internal Auditor, a peer role leading independent assurance activities, to maintain the integrity of MWPA's management systems.
About You
Key qualifications and experience:
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Quality or a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated experience in management systems development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of management system certification (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Experience in change governance / Management of Change (MoC) processes.
- Experience in corrective action, non-conformance management and root-cause problem solving.
- Experience working with Business Excellence principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience developing KPI and performance reporting frameworks, including dashboards and trend analysis for leadership reporting.
- Experience with digital workflow, document control or business systems, and driving system enhancements.
- The ability to communicate, train and engage stakeholders from any position in the organisation, effectively and professionally.
- Must possess enthusiasm and initiative, be well organised, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in MS Office and relevant reporting/data tools.
