Your new role
We are seeking an experienced Stores Officer for an initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. Accommodation will be provided throughout the assignment, with the role commencing in Emerald for approximately six weeks before transitioning to Duaringa as required.
In this varied position, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day stores operations, inventory management, procurement activities and logistics functions. Duties will include receiving, inspecting and issuing stock, coordinating deliveries and pickups, maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting stocktakes, raising purchase orders and assisting with procurement processes. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure goods and services are delivered efficiently while maintaining compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in stores, warehousing, procurement or administration
- Demonstrated understanding of inventory management and stores operations
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Current Queensland C Class Driver's Licence
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commitment to workplace health and safety practices
- Ability to work both independently and within a team setting
- Forklift Licence (desirable)
- Previous local government, procurement or logistics experience (desirable)
