THE CLIENT
Our client is a part of the Iconic Snowy Hydro 2.0 project in Cooma. They are a leading heavy mechanical engineering, services and contracting business operating throughout Australia and New Zealand in major capital cities and regional locations. They perform an integral role in the development of ANZ infrastructure across mining and resources, transport and power markets.

Location: Kosciuszko National Park, NSW
Roster: 17/7 FIFO – 12-hour day shifts
Salary: $220k - $240k + Super + 25% Site Uplift

THE ROLE
The O&M; Engineer will play a key role in developing and implementing the maintenance and operational management strategy for the Snowy Hydro 2.0 project. Working across the engineering, construction and operations teams, this role will ensure the power plant is equipped with robust maintenance systems, predictive maintenance programs and effective operational procedures ahead of commissioning and long-term operation.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams in Germany and Cooma, construction teams, operations personnel and key project stakeholders to develop maintenance plans, improve operational procedures and support the successful transition into plant operation.

The role will also contribute to selected risk management activities, working alongside the dedicated Risk Manager to support risk identification, assessment and reporting.

ABOUT YOU
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance and operations,



ideally within a hydropower plant, power generation facility or major energy infrastructure environment.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing maintenance management plans for complex industrial or power generation assets.
• Solid understanding of maintenance planning, predictive maintenance, preventative maintenance and equipment lifecycle management.

PROJECT INFORMATION
Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped hydro project is well underway. Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market.
