You’re a true hunter. You’re strategic in how you look for opportunities, you genuinely enjoy getting out and meeting new people and turning cold conversations into serious business.
You’re hungry - you love the game of sales and want to make good money. You’re confident and back yourself enough to know once you put your mind to it, nothing will stop you.
You’re not some polished corporate “suit monkey”. You’re down-to-earth, confident and can talk to anyone. You could walk onto a mine site, farm or construction site and build rapport just as easily as you could sit across the table from a procurement manager.
Most importantly, you think bigger than the next sale. You'd rather spend six months building a relationship that could produce serious repeat business than chase tiny transactions all day.
This role is a BDM for Dome Shelter Supplies they supply large shelters across Australia into agriculture, mining, resources, construction and other commercial industries.
The business already has someone managing inbound enquiries and existing relationships. Your job is to go out and create opportunities that aren't coming to them.
Your role is to identify major prospects, cold call, get on the road, attend expos, build relationships and chase larger wholesale, project and tender opportunities.
Some deals will have 3–12 month sales cycles, so you need to genuinely enjoy the hunt.
You do not need to have sold similar things before - it’s a simple product they can easily train you on. The most important things are tenacity & the ability to build relationships with people in their ideal sectors.
There's a huge amount of autonomy - and no micromanaging. You'll own your strategy, schedule and results, with Harry, the owner, there to train and support you. This is an opportunity to pretty much build your own business - be on the front lines, build your network and grow the company.
The head office is in Perth but this role is remote but based on the East Coast based - QLD or NSW being their preference. You will of course be on the road a lot and will receive a car allowance and uncapped commissions.
Like most BDM roles there will be a grind at the start - getting out there, building in-roads and figuring out how to find & catch the big fish. But if you're relentless enough - the upside is huge. They’re a big player in the sector and the owners are switched on, capable, tenacious and have a excellent business acumen.
If you're commercially smart, hungry as hell and want to make serious money, apply now.
