An established Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service is seeking an experienced Counsellor to join its team in remote NT.
This is an opportunity to provide culturally protected, trauma-informed counselling to men, young men and boys, working alongside Aboriginal Family Wellness Workers and cultural specialists.
About the Role
- Provide individual, family and group counselling
- Support clients experiencing trauma, complex adversity, mental health, AOD and relationship challenges
- Facilitate men's wellbeing groups focused on anger, violence, respectful relationships and behavioural change
- Develop strong therapeutic relationships and support clients to achieve their goals
- Work collaboratively with Aboriginal staff, families and external services
- Participate in case planning, supervision and multidisciplinary meetings
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Counselling or a related discipline
- Remote Aboriginal community experience
- Professional registration or eligibility for registration
- Experience providing trauma-informed counselling and case management
- Experience working with complex trauma and vulnerable populations
- Current or eligible NT Driver Licence and Ochre Card
