About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Heritage Consultant to join the Heritage team and play a key role in the successful delivery of heritage projects.
Reporting to the Regional Lead - Heritage, you will combine technical heritage expertise, project management, client relationship management and team leadership, while supporting the continued growth and development of the Heritage practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Heritage Consultant looking to step into a senior position with greater responsibility across projects, clients and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of heritage projects within agreed timeframes, budgets and quality requirements
- Plan projects, coordinate resources and ensure effective project execution
- Manage project budgets, deadlines, invoicing and overall project progress
- Build and maintain robust relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Coordinate internal teams and resources to ensure the right people are allocated to each project
- Participate in tenders, including preparation, design, submission and review
- Maintain high standards of technical quality and project delivery
- Support the Regional Lead with mentoring and coaching of junior and developing team members
- Identify training and development opportunities across the Heritage team
- Contribute to continuous improvement, technical development and the growth of the Heritage practice
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with relevant quality,
safety and environmental management systems
- Maintain current professional qualifications and industry knowledge
About You
You will be an experienced Heritage professional with a strong consulting background and the ability to take ownership of projects while building trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
You will ideally have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Heritage, Archaeology, History, Anthropology or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience within heritage consulting or a related environment
- Strong project management and project delivery experience
- Experience managing project budgets, deadlines and resources
- Strong knowledge of relevant heritage legislation, policies and regulatory frameworks
- Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders
- Exposure to tender preparation and submission processes
- Previous experience mentoring, coaching or developing junior staff
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A collaborative and proactive approach to project delivery
