About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Technical Business Analyst to join a major technology expansion program for a leading education provider.
This role will play a critical part in supporting the organisation's expansion into New Zealand, working across technology, business and operational work streams to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable and aligned to business objectives. You'll be responsible for engaging stakeholders, gathering and documenting requirements, defining future-state processes, and supporting the successful delivery of new technology capabilities across applications, integrations, data, reporting and operational processes.
Working alongside project managers, technical SMEs, vendors and business leaders, you'll help bridge the gap between business needs and technology delivery while ensuring stakeholders remain engaged throughout the transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering workshops and stakeholder consultations across business and technology teams.
- Analyse, document and validate business, functional, technical, integration and reporting requirements.
- Develop current-state and future-state process maps using BPMN methodology.
- Conduct gap analysis and support solution design across applications, data, integrations and operational processes.
- Document user stories, business rules, acceptance criteria and requirements traceability artefacts.
- Support data migration, reporting, integration and system implementation activities.
- Work closely with vendors and technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
- Support testing, UAT,
business readiness activities and transition into operational support.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement and help drive alignment across multiple work streams.
About You
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst within complex technology delivery environments.
- Prior experience within the education sector is essential, ideally supporting higher education, pathways, student services or learning environments.
- Solid expertise in requirements elicitation, stakeholder engagement and translating business needs into practical technology outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience creating BPMN process maps, future-state designs and business analysis artefacts.
- Experience working across enterprise applications, integrations, CRM, LMS, Student Management Systems or similar platforms.
- Strong workshop facilitation skills with the ability to take stakeholders on the journey and challenge existing thinking where required.
- Experience supporting technology implementation, transformation or business expansion programs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders from operational teams through to executive leadership.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart or similar analysis and documentation tools will be highly regarded.
