About the Role

Here at Simon National Carriers we have recently had a vacancy and an opportunity now exists for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our Brisbane branch based at the flagship Carole Park depot. The role is key to providing both leadership and guidance to our local operations team whilst also contributing at a national level to ensure the highest standards of service delivery levels to a diverse customer base are maintained. Also pivotal to the role is continuing to develop the skills of our staff and in conjunction with the State Manager to position the branch for continuing growth.



The successful applicant will ensure our reputation within the marketplace for excellent service levels and strong commitment to compliance and safety is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, train, and support your team to achieve success

- Undertake research to identify and create new business opportunities

- Build, maintain and leverage relationships of trust, understanding and integrity

- P&L;

- Personnel management

- Asset utilization

- Compliance and Safety

- Ensure the integrity of all Administrative and QA system processes and functions

- Ad-hoc project management.

What You Need

✔ Proven experience in an Operations management or supervisory role within transport/logistics (particularly Road/Rail Linehaul)
✔ Strong leadership and team management skills an be a person comfortable with and committed to strong process management systems
✔ Knowledge of general freight and cross-docking operations (ideally General Freight) with demonstrated capabilities in managing a local fleet of both company and sub-contractor resources
✔ Ability to use Windows-based Freight Management Systems (MS Excel, Word, Outlook)

✔ A personality and customer service ethic that both our customers and fellow staff will embrace and which enhances the value of the relationships you will generate, develop and maintain
✔ Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality service delivery
