Job Brief
Hands on tax role covering direct and indirect tax for a global business. No direct reports, suited to someone senior who wants to stay close to the technical work.
About Our Client
A large, well established global technology business with a centrally managed tax function and a presence across multiple regions. The team operates in a quick moving environment and is currently going through some internal changes as it looks at how tax work gets shared across the group.
Responsibilities
- You will handle a mix of direct and indirect tax matters as part of a broader corporate tax team.
- You will get involved in the project management side of R&D; claims, working closely with stakeholders across the business.
- You may pick up elements of global mobility or employment tax work depending on your background and interests.
- You will work across day to day compliance and advisory matters as they come up,
with exposure to jurisdictions beyond Australia and New Zealand.
- You will liaise with finance and business stakeholders as part of your day to day work.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years experience in a tax role, ideally in house or from a strong professional services background.
- Comfortable working hands on without direct reports.
- Experience across direct and indirect tax.
- Background in a software or technology company is a plus, particularly for the R&D; component, but not essential.
- Exposure to global mobility, employment tax, or international tax is a bonus, not a requirement.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
