Code Black Coffee is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead us into our next exciting stage of growth and future development.

We are looking for an influential, hands-on visionary who will be responsible for driving operational efficiency and excellence across multiple venues within the group portfolio (that also includes brands beyond Code Black Coffee), whilst also maintaining overall business growth and customer satisfaction.

This position will require outstanding leadership skills and strategic thinking, as well as an impressive energy and an ongoing passion for the Melbourne hospitality industry. A successful applicant will be someone who has a strong background specifically in the frontline operation of cafes, restaurants or other hospitality ventures.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for shaping the future of our venues, and will be required to:

- Implement the vision and strategy for the group, ensuring it aligns with the company's brand and objectives

- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including the management team, front-of-house staff, and marketing teams, to align venue initiatives and optimise operations

- Act as constant role model and showcase your skilled industry skills in a friendly and genuine manner

- Communicate with venue managers to ensure a seamless flow of information, resolve issues, regularly visit venues to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures

- Monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue growth opportunities, and implement strategies to maximise profitability while maintaining high-quality service

- Participate in leadership meetings, providing insights, recommendations, and updates on culinary operations and industry trends

- Manage staff performance, provide constructive feedback as required, identify weaknesses, and provide training as appropriate





- Be confident and comfortable holding people accountable whilst maintaining strong relationships and encouraging a supportive, positive, and fun workplace for all employees

- Inspire team members with a lead-by-example approach with a positive and energetic attitude

- Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of both Food Safety and OH&S; requirements

What you will bring:

- 5+ years' experience in a senior operational leadership role within the hospitality industry

- Demonstrated experience managing multiple sites and Venue Managers

- Strong understanding of café and restaurant P&Ls;, labour management, COGS, budgets and commercial performance

- Proven ability to build, lead and develop high-performing hospitality teams

- Exceptional communication, organisation and problem-solving skills

- Experience opening new venues or supporting business growth would be highly regarded

This is a hands-on leadership role with genuine ownership of group-wide operational performance. You will be expected to spend significant time across our venues, working alongside Venue Managers and teams, while also contributing at a strategic level to the future direction and growth of the group.

There is also an opportunity for a Junior Operations Assistant role to be developed for any applicants who are less experienced but still have hospitality operational skills and capabilities to significantly contribute to the management team.
