We have a temporary full-time appointment commencing 15 September 2026 until 15 September 2028 with the possibility of permanency in the future.

About the role
Many Aboriginal learners carry significant cultural, environmental and land management knowledge that is not formally recognised within nationally accredited qualifications, limiting engagement, progression and skills recognition particularly in land management, cultural heritage protection and eco-tourism sectors. In partnership with other TAFEs and on behalf of the National TAFE Network, Central Regional TAFE is leading a project to design and pilot Australia’s first National On-Country VET Framework for Recognising Traditional Knowledge, enabling Traditional Knowledge to be validated and assessed alongside contemporary vocational competencies while maintaining national training package and quality assurance requirements.

The Project Manager leads end-to-end delivery of the National On-Country VET Framework for Recognising Traditional Knowledge project, convening a national steering committee, leading a national project team and ensuring delivery of agreed project outcomes in accordance with governance and other requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will bring senior project management experience, strong stakeholder engagement skills across Aboriginal communities, government and training organisations, and the ability to lead a dispersed national team to deliver complex outcomes.

Suitability Requirements and Eligibility
Applicants will be assessed by their skills, experiences and attributes in relation to the job requirements and leadership behaviours required for the role. More information about eligibility requirements can be found on the Job Description Form.

To be considered eligible for employment, you must possess current and valid Australian work rights, such as Australian citizenship, permanent residency or an appropriate working visa. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

You must also hold,

or have the ability to obtain, a Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and a Working with Children (WWC) Card. Appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of any mandatory pre-employment screening requirements.

We’re always on the lookout for great people. If you’re suitable but not selected for this role but we believe you’d be a strong fit elsewhere, over the next 12 months we may consider you for other opportunities within the organisation or share your details with other agencies - with your permission.
