Fire Technician – Construction

We are looking for an experienced Fire Technician to join our team, primarily working across commercial construction projects throughout Perth.

This is predominantly a construction-based role covering the installation, fit-off, testing and commissioning of fire detection and occupant warning systems.

There will also be the prospect to undertake service and fault call-outs if preferred, however this is not the primary focus of the position.

The Role

Your day-to-day work will include:

- Installation and fit-off of fire detection systems

- FIP installation, modifications and upgrades

- Fire panel programming and commissioning

- Programming devices, zones, outputs and cause & effect

- OWS/EWIS installation, testing and commissioning

- Smoke detectors, thermal detectors, speakers, strobes and associated devices

- Mechanical, security, lift and other fire system interfaces

- Testing and commissioning completed installations

- Fault finding and rectification

- Completing defects and DLP works

- Reading and working from fire drawings, schematics and specifications

- Coordinating with builders, electricians and other trades

- Completing commissioning and handover documentation

- Optional service and breakdown call-outs for technicians who prefer a mix of construction and service work





What We're Looking For

- Current WA Electrical Licence OR appropriate cabling registration/licence

- Previous experience as a Fire Technician

- Strong experience with commercial fire detection systems

- Good knowledge of AS 1670 and relevant Australian Standards

- Ability to work independently on construction projects

- Strong fault-finding skills

- Ability to read and interpret construction and fire drawings

- Current Australian Driver's Licence

- Construction White Card

- Working at heights

- Reliable and professional approach to site work

Panel Programming Experience Highly Regarded

Experience programming and commissioning fire panels is a major advantage, particularly:

- Pertronic

- Ampac

- Notifier

- VESDA / Aspirating Smoke Detection

- OWS / EWIS systems

Manufacturer training and accreditation would be highly regarded.
