Catholic Education Queensland Limited (CEQL) is the peak body supporting Queensland's Catholic education sector. We partner with Catholic School Authorities to ensure high‑quality education, strong sector advocacy, and effective stewardship of state and federal funding.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our Resourcing Advocacy and Strategy unit.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will lead CEQL’s School Funding team with funding administration, financial modelling, compliance and stakeholder advice.
You will work closely with the Head of Finance, CEQL Executives, and key internal and external stakeholders to support accurate funding distribution and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
- Lead the School Funding Team to ensure accurate and timely payments and reporting.
- Monitor CEQL’s financial compliance with legislation and funding agreements.
- Support to the effective management of funding programs.
- Support and provide strategic financial advice to Head of Finance and contribute to long term financial planning.
- Supervise, mentor and develop School Funding Team members.
Financial Analysis and Research
- Provide insightful financial analysis to CEQL and other stakeholders to ensure well informed decision making, and assistance with budgeting and school operations.
- Provide financial expertise in the administration of government funding programs.
- Provide financial analytics support to the Workplace relations team relating to Enterprise Bargaining.
Advocacy and Stakeholder Management
- Maintain robust relationships with key finance personnel at CSAs to ensure a shared understanding of funding and compliance issues.
- Support the financial management of schools through contributing to Committees, reference groups, forums,
staff development and other education opportunities that are undertaken by CSAs and other stakeholders.
- Keep CSAs informed on funding program related issues.
About You
- Qualifications in accounting, finance, management or a related field.
- Experience in financial analysis and modelling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Excel skills with sound knowledge of computer software packages including SharePoint, Office 365, Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with and analysing large and complex datasets.
- Experience with Power BI, Power Query and Power Automate is desirable but not essential.
- Experience and demonstrated discretion in working with confidential and sensitive information.
