About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Resource Geologist to play a key role in bringing online the Havieron Project, Australia's largest undeveloped underground gold mine. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of resource geology processes and contribute directly to the transition of Havieron from a development project to an active mining operation over the next two years.
Please note: This role is full time permanent, based at our Subiaco Office and will require frequent travel to site at the project advances.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead updates and validation of Havieron geological and mineral resource models using 3D modelling and geostatistical techniques.
- Provide geological input into mine planning, feasibility studies, geometallurgical programs and project development activities.
- Evaluate geological variability and implement strategies to improve model confidence and estimation accuracy.
- Partner with resource development, exploration,
mining and metallurgy teams to optimise resource extraction and project outcomes.
- Develop and implement best-practice grade control drilling, sampling and modelling processes to support mining operations.
- Analyse geological, drilling and assay data to deliver accurate mineral resource estimates and classifications.
- Communicate geological findings, resource updates and technical recommendations to key stakeholders across the business (management presentation, JORC compliant mineral resource & technical reports)
About You
You are a technically strong Resource Geologist with a passion for geological modelling, resource estimation and solving complex geological challenges. You have significant underground mining experience and enjoy working collaboratively across disciplines.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in resource geology
- Strong resource estimation experience, particularly using:
- Ordinary Kriging (OK)
- Multiple Indicator Kriging (MIK)
- Conditional Simulation
- Experience working within an underground mining environment.
- Proficiency with Leapfrog, Vulcan and Snowden Supervisor.
- Strong understanding of mineral resource classification and reporting in accordance with the JORC Code.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- >3 years' experience in underground mine geology roles
- Postgraduate qualification in Geostatistics or a related field.
- Experience in drill program design,
core logging and geological interpretation.
- Knowledge of SQL databases and geological data management systems such as Acquire.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management capabilities.
