Are you an experienced CA-qualified accountant looking for a rewarding senior role that offers genuine flexibility?

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our established accounting and advisory practice in Sydney's St George region. This part-time position is ideal for an experienced public practice accountant seeking professional challenge and client responsibility while maintaining work-life balance.

With flexible scheduling options, this role can be worked as:

- 3 full days per week; or

- 22.5 hours across 5 school-hour days

Hybrid working arrangements are available following successful completion of induction, onboarding and training in our systems, procedures and internal controls.

Anchor office days are Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Conveniently located close to public transport, our office provides an easy commute while offering the flexibility to work from home under our hybrid work arrangements.

About the Role

This is a senior-level position suited to an experienced accountant who enjoys combining technical expertise, client responsibility and mentoring.

You will:

- Manage a portfolio of established business and individual clients

- Review financial statements, tax returns and workpapers prepared by team members

- Provide tax and business advisory services to clients

- Answer technical taxation and accounting queries from junior and intermediate accountants

- Ensure high-quality compliance outcomes and adherence to qualified standards

- Assist with tax planning strategies and business structuring matters

- Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies as required

- Support continuous improvement of firm processes and quality control procedures

What We're Looking For

You will ideally possess:

- CA qualification

- Minimum 5 years' experience in Australian public practice

- Strong technical taxation and compliance knowledge

- Experience reviewing compliance work and providing quality control oversight

- Ability to manage client relationships independently

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

- A collaborative mentoring approach and willingness to support junior team members

- Experience with Access Handisoft and cloud-based accounting software (preferred)
