Job Description
Are you passionate about improving patient safety and driving meaningful quality outcomes? We're seeking an experienced Clinical Quality & Risk Manager to provide strategic leadership across clinical governance, quality and risk management. In this pivotal role, you'll partner with clinical and operational leaders to strengthen safety, support continuous improvement, ensure compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, and help deliver exceptional, person-centred care.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you'll lead the organisation's quality, safety and risk management systems while providing expert advice and guidance across clinical governance. You'll oversee accreditation, incident and risk management, quality reporting and continuous improvement initiatives, using data and evidence to drive better outcomes for patients, consumers and our services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the organisation's clinical governance, quality and risk management framework.
- Drive compliance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead accreditation activities and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
- Oversee clinical incident, complaint and risk management processes, including reliable incident responses.
- Analyse and report on quality,
safety and risk data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with leaders and clinicians to strengthen governance, safety and quality across the organisation.
- Coach and mentor teams in contemporary quality improvement, systems thinking and human factors principles.
- Prepare reports and provide assurance to executive and governance committees.
About You
You'll be a collaborative healthcare professional who enjoys influencing change, building capability and partnering with multidisciplinary teams to improve the quality and safety of care.
You'll also bring:
- Qualifications in a health-related discipline (qualifications in Quality & Safety, Health Service Management or a related field will be highly regarded).
- Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement and risk management.
- Strong knowledge of the NSQHS Standards and clinical governance frameworks.
- Experience leading accreditation activities and continuous improvement programs.
- Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to interpret, benchmark and report on quality and safety data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience supporting incident investigations and risk management processes will be highly regarded.
