We are looking for a reliable and motivated Yard & Sales Operator to join our team at our Wattleup yard.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy yard environment, dealing with customers, handling cash and being part of a close-knit team.
About the Role
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Operating forklifts to load, unload and move materials around the yard
- Grading and identifying different types of scrap metal
- Loading and unloading customer vehicles and trucks
- Using and oxy and plasma cutter ocasionally
- Inputting weighbridge dockets and processing customer transactions
- Paying customers for scrap metal purchases
- Providing friendly customer service and assisting customers in the yard
- General yard labour and manual handling
- Keeping the yard clean, organised and secure
- Assisting with general sales and day-to-day yard operations
Saturday work is also available for anyone looking to pick up additional hours.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous forklift experience
- Is comfortable working in an outdoor environment
- Has good attention to detail
- Is confident dealing with customers
- Has basic computer skills and is comfortable entering information accurately
- Handling cash
- Is reliable, punctual and willing to get stuck in
- Works well both independently and as part of a team
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe workplace
Previous experience in scrap metal, recycling, warehousing, transport or a similar yard environment would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
