The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU) is a 38-bed acute inpatient service located at Townsville University Hospital. The unit provides compassionate, short-term intensive treatment and support for individuals experiencing acute episodes of mental illness, offering a supportive environment focused on recovery, stabilisation, and wellbeing when more intensive support is required.

- Salary range: $140,632 to $152,685 p.a. (NG7)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

About your opportunity:
As the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) within AAMHIU you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the ward. Your will oversee staffing, budgets, and operational planning while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, trauma informed, and recovery-oriented care in line with relevant legislation and standards.
As the NUM you will have the opportunity to provide strategic and clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, support workforce development and drives quality improvement initiatives, manages risk, and fosters a positive team culture to optimise patient outcomes and service effectiveness.

- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
