Rope Access Technician - Boilermaker / Welder

Eire Total Access is currently seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Rope Access Technician - Boilermaker / Welder to join our growing operations team on a full-time basis.

Working across mining, industrial, infrastructure, commercial and maintenance projects throughout Western Australia, this position combines advanced rope access techniques with boiler making and welding trade skills to perform inspection, maintenance, repair, fabrication and remediation works in difficult-to-access locations.

Reporting to the Rope Access Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and compliance with industry standards while delivering specialised access solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform rope access activities in accordance with IRATA requirements, company procedures and client specifications.

- Carry out structural steel fabrication, welding, installation, repair and maintenance works in industrial and construction environments.

- Access difficult-to-reach work locations using rope access systems and techniques.

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication details and technical specifications.

- Perform welding activities including FCAW, MIG, TIG and Stick welding processes as required.

- Conduct maintenance and repair works on fixed plant, steel structures, piping systems and associated infrastructure.

- Prepare materials, fabricate components and install structural steel and metalwork to required specifications.

- Assist with inspections, remedial works and shutdown maintenance activities.

- Complete risk assessments, JSA's, permits and relevant safety documentation.

- Inspect, maintain and correctly store rope access and trade equipment.

- Participate in pre-start meetings,



toolbox talks and safety initiatives.

- Maintain accurate records including timesheets, inspection reports and work completion documentation.

- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients and project teams to ensure project requirements are achieved safely and efficiently.

- Ensure all works are completed in compliance with company HSEQ requirements and Australian Standards.

To Be Successful in This Role You Will Have

- Current IRATA Rope Access Certification (Level 1, 2 or 3).

- Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding) or equivalent trade qualification.

- Minimum three years' relevant post-trade experience as a Boilermaker/Welder.

- Demonstrated experience undertaking welding, fabrication and maintenance works within mining, industrial, construction or heavy engineering environments.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding procedures and quality standards.

- Current Construction Industry White Card.

- Current Driver's Licence.

- Current Working at Heights certification.

- Current First Aid Certificate (desirable).

- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.

- Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.

Desirable

- IRATA Level 2 or Level 3 certification.

- Confined Space Entry certification.

- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence.





- Rigging or Dogging qualification.

- Forklift licence.

- National Police Clearance.

- Experience on mining shutdowns, maintenance contracts and major projects.

- Additional welding qualifications or coded welding experience.
