About the Institute
Located on the lands of the Bidiagal Clan of the Dharawal Nation (Randwick, NSW), Black Dog Institute is the only Medical Research Institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, our aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone. Emphasising a devoted focus to into suicide prevention, digital mental health, a workplace mental health, we undertake a unique ‘translational’ research approach that allows us to turn our world-class findings into new treatments, prevention strategies, clinical services, educational programs, and e-health products. We join the dots by connecting research answers, expert knowledge, and the voices of lived experience to deliver solutions that impact and boost the health care system for patients and practitioners alike. The Role

As a Research and Clinic Nurse, you will support the delivery of specialised neurostimulation and interventional psychiatry services, while assisting with research activities and participant care. Treatments may include esketamine/ketamine therapies, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS),



and Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS).

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing high-quality patient and participant care throughout the treatment journey.
- Conducting patient assessments and supporting ongoing monitoring and follow-up.
- Coordinating appointments, referrals, and clinical communications.
- Delivering approved treatments and research procedures within scope of practice and credentialling.
- Maintaining accurate clinical and research records.
- Supporting data collection, reporting, and research activities.
- Responding to enquiries from patients, participants, and referrers.
- Contributing to a safe, collaborative, and patient-focused clinic environment.
- Participating in continuous quality improvement and professional development activities.

About You

You are a compassionate and organised Registered Nurse who enjoys working collaboratively and values evidence-based practice.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- A Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience maintaining accurate clinical documentation and records.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to patient-centred care, confidentiality, and safety.
- Research experience, or an interest in supporting clinical research activities.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications

Desireable
- Experience working within mental health services.




- Exposure to interventional psychiatry or neurostimulation treatments, including ketamine, TMS, or tDCS.
