Description

Contribute to, and grow, the General Gastroenterology and Endoscopy service at Mater Hospital Springfield, located in the Greater Brisbane area of Southeast Queensland, with a focus on delivering high-quality specialist gastroenterology services.

Those with a subspecialty interest in Hepatology, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, or Interventional Endoscopy may have an prospect to grow these services in the future or assist with delivering these services at Mater Hospital Brisbane.

Responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
Providing a robust outpatient General Gastroenterology and Endoscopy service
Providing support for inpatient care in collaboration with General Medical and Surgical teams
Contributing to Gastroenterology on-call services in collaboration with Mater Hospital Brisbane
Collaborating with and providing expert advice to the Director of Gastroenterology
Monitoring and reviewing service improvements to Mater's Gastroenterology services
Participating in departmental audit activities, as well as morbidity and mortality meetings
Working with the administrative, nursing and allied health teams to provide an integrated service





To be considered for this role, the successful applicant must:
Be a Consultant Gastroenterologist with current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP)
Have CCRTGE recognition of training for adult upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy
Have the ability to manage complex gastroenterological and hepatological problems, integrating knowledge, clinical skills and compassion
Have an understanding of public and private health systems
Have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and promote harmonious relationships
Demonstrate an interest and ability in teaching
Participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster
