We are partnering with a globally recognised institutional investment manager with billions in funds under management across infrastructure, debt investments, private equity and listed equities.
The Role
This is a growth role that will see you reporting into the General Counsel and work with a number of experienced funds and corporate M&A; lawyers within the broader team.
Your responsibilities
will include:
Deal Execution & Structuring: Advising on the establishment, structuring and ongoing management of investment funds across multiple asset classes
Documentation: Reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements, limited partnership agreements (LPAs), unit trusts, constitutions, IM's, PDS's, subscription agreements and shareholders' agreements.
Product Development: Supporting the structuring and delivery of investment products to global wholesale investors.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in different jurisdictions, particularly for alternative investment funds.
Governance: Providing guidance on governance frameworks and managing investor relations from a legal perspective.
Ideal Candidate
8+ years’ PQE gained within a leading law firm or sophisticated financial services/investment management setting
Robust experience advising on investment funds, managed funds, private markets or institutional investment products
Deep understanding of Australian financial services regulation and investment structures
Exposure to offshore fund regimes and cross-border fundraising activity will be highly regarded
Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management capability
Commercially pragmatic mindset with the ability to operate closely with business teams in a quick-paced environment
