Glenwood Public School is a small, culturally diverse school located in South Western Sydney, serving approximately 219 students. The school will introduce three special education autism support classes in 2026, broadening the capacity to support diverse learning needs. This role offers a base salary ranging from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and superannuation contributions.
Responsibilities
Teach special education students, including those with autism and behavioural difficulties.
Collaborate with the support unit team, learning support officers, parents, carers, teachers, external agencies, and the wider community.
Implement evidence‑based, student‑centred teaching approaches to promote academic growth and learning outcomes.
Use adaptable classroom behaviour management and adaptive strategies to enhance student engagement, social skills and early intervention techniques.
Work as part of a variety of teams across the school to improve student outcomes.
Qualifications
Full approval to teach special education by the NSW Department of Education.
Experience and/or approval to teach students with autism, behavioural difficulties and other complex support and learning needs.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Evidence of outstanding versatile classroom behaviour management and adaptive strategies.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams to improve student outcomes.
