Your New CompanyA well‑established independent school is seeking an experienced Property & Facilities Manager to oversee the full facilities, grounds, and maintenance function across a busy multi‑building campus. This is a key leadership role, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.
Your New Role
Lead the Grounds & Maintenance team, managing workloads, training, and secure work practices.
Oversee property and facilities operations, ensuring compliance with building codes, safety standards, and local regulations.
Manage security systems, fire systems, plant registers, and maintenance documentation.
Coordinate quotes, tenders, and contractor activity.
Prepare and manage budgets for facilities, grounds, and maintenance.
Ensure transparent procurement and adherence to purchasing procedures.
Oversee setups, pack‑downs, cleaning standards, and support facility users, including occasional out‑of‑hours attendance.
Lead WHS systems and induct contractors in WHS and child‑secure practices.
Develop preventative maintenance schedules and long‑term asset plans.
Contribute to strategic planning and support building projects.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Strong experience in facilities or property management in a similar role. (Schools/Education experience is highly regarded)
Proven ability to manage WHS, contractors, and compliance.
Budgeting and procurement experience.
Clear communication skills and a practical, organised approach.
Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check Ability to pass a police check
