About The Role
An excellent chance has arisen for a motivated Payroll Accountant / Assistant Accountant to join a well-established global engineering and infrastructure business. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role offers a unique blend of payroll, financial accounting and management reporting responsibilities, providing exposure across the broader finance function.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership of payroll while also wanting to develop their accounting and reporting skills within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
End-to-end processing of monthly payroll for 100+ employees
Processing salary increases, bonuses, terminations and leave adjustments
Superannuation reconciliations and payments
Maintaining employee records and payroll data integrity
Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative requirements
Preparing payroll reports and analysis as required
Finance & Accounting
Assisting with month-end close activities
Balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
Corporate card and expense reconciliations
Intercompany reconciliations
Assisting with monthly management reporting
Cash flow forecasting support
Audit and statutory reporting assistance
Ad hoc financial analysis and project work
About You
Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
CA/CPA qualified or currently studying
Previous experience in payroll and accounting within a commercial workplace
Robust Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
