An expanding energy trading business is growing its trading capability to support a portfolio of renewable generation, battery storage, and customer-facing energy products.As a Trading Analyst / Spot Trader, you will support spot trading, portfolio optimisation, asset performance analysis, and the development of trading tools, systems, and processes across the National Electricity Market (NEM).
This is not a traditional execution-only trading role.
The position will suit candidates who enjoy working with data, analytics, strategy, process improvement, and operational problem-solving in a fast-evolving trading environment.You will work closely with trading, analytics, and leadership teams to support commercial outcomes across a agile and growing renewable energy portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport spot trading activities across the NEMMonitor market conditions, pricing, constraints, and system eventsSupport optimisation of renewable, battery, and customer portfolio positionsAssist with integration and ramp-up of new assets into the trading environmentAnalytics & Tool DevelopmentAnalyse market, portfolio, and asset performance data to support trading decisionsSupport analysis of battery and asset underperformance and optimisation opportunitiesBuild and improve reporting, dashboards, analytical tools, and automation processesWork with Python, SQL,
