If you are passionate about supporting children and young people in therapeutic residential care, we are seeking Therapeutic Care Workers to join our team across residential sites in Nuriootpa, Evanston Park, Mawson Lakes, Golden Grove and Pasadena.
Multiple part time and casual positions are available.RoleYou will support young people in developing essential life skills and social competencies that promote personal growth and strengthen their connection to the community.
Your support will help them:Settle into a home-like environmentCreate a secure and consistent primary relationshipDevelop independent living skillsStrengthen their capacity and links to the local communityWork toward their goals and aspirationsShifts & RostersThis program provides 24/7 care with consistent rotating shiftsThe successful candidates must be available to work sleepover, passive (overnight) shiftsWhat We're OfferingMultiple permanent part time and casual roles availableImmediate start (subject to completion of pre-employment checks)Ongoing training & professional developmentCareer progression opportunitiesAbout YouYou'll engage, inspire and support young people to create positive experiences and build skills for independence.
You will demonstrate:The ability to form a secure attachment with young peopleExperience working with young people with complex traumaSkills in case planning, case noting and report writingA willingness to contribute to maintaining a clean, organised home environment, including supporting with meal preparation, food shopping and general household choresFlexibility,



and a commitment to working at least three shifts per weekQualificationsHold a minimum Certificate IV qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Youth Work, Social Work, Social Science, Counselling) or currently actively working towards a recognised relevant qualification in accordance with DCP requirementsBe willing to obtain or already hold a Working with Children Check, First Aid & CPR certification, and a National Police CheckHold a current and valid First Aid & CPR certificateHold a current and valid Full Driver LicenceHave previously completed and passed a psychological assessment, or be willing to undertake oneHold a current and valid Safe Environments for Children & Young People: Through Their Eyes (including refreshers)Be eligible to work in AustraliaBe available to work afternoon/night shifts from 4pm-8am including an 8-hour passive (overnight) sleepAbout usSYC exists so everyone can succeed.
