Our Lady Help Of Christians Primary School, South LismoreStudent Wellbeing OfficerPosition Type: Part time temporaryHours / FTE: 20 hours per fortnightCommencement date: As soon as possibleTerm of Appointment: Until 26 January ****The role of the Student Wellbeing Officer is to support the emotional well-being of students.The National School Wellbeing Program supports schools to provide a school-based role that is recognised as part of the whole school approach to pastoral care.Applicants Must hold a valid NSW Working with Children Checkhave compliance with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment.Qualifications hold a minimum qualification or qualifications, equivalent to or higher than, a Certificate IV as determined by the States, and this qualification or qualifications must include competencies in both: mental health and making appropriate referrals; and providing pastoral care, and/or working with youthPersons holding a formal qualification (Certificate IV or above) in a related field (eg, Theology/ Nursing/Policing, etc) which includes components dealing with mental health and client referrals are deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.Teachers, social workers, counsellors or psychologists in training are also deemed to meet the minimum qualifications.




Applicants with a teaching degree meet the qualifications but will not be remunerated as a teacher.Applicants are required to complete the professional learning package in responding to and preventing cyberbullying delivered by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner within three months of commencing NSWP services and refresh this professional learning at least once every two and a half years.Experience in providing support to children and/or young people to address social and emotional needsAbility to support schools and teachers in identifying and develop educational, social and emotional programs to support children and young people who are vulnerable or at riskAbility to liaise with community service organisationsExperience in mentoring children and/or young peopleWell-developed organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work effectively both independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary pastoral care teamHave a demonstrated commitment to personal faith practiceApplications close: 3.00 pm, Friday 7 August ****.Richmond Region Diocese of Lismore Catholic Schools Limited is committed to creating Child Safe Schools.
