Trade Assistant

We're currently seeking a driven individual that has a basic to intermediate understanding of mechanical knowledge to join our team as a Trade Assistant.
This role provides support to our mechanical tradespeople and wider workshop based team to ensure our high standards in maintaining and upkeeping our fleet are consistently met.
Come on board with Busways at our Heatherbrae Depot.
What We Offer
Earning Potential: Up to $85,000+ including reasonable overtime loading and generous allowances Inclusive of super
Base rate of $******* per hour
Attendance Allowance: $16 payable on rostered worked hours
Annual Leave: loading of 17.5%

Exposure to Advanced Technologies: Assist with a range of vehicles, including Euro 5 & 6 technologies.

Role Responsibilities
This role requires a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills.
Your main duties will include:
Performing minor repairs and service of vehicles and equipment, in a timely manner, within your skill level and experience under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson
Moving buses within the yard,
parking and refuelling them
Pick-up and delivery of parts and other objects as required by the Workshop Supervisor or Leading Hand
General yard/workshop cleaning and maintenance
Store duties as and when required by the supervisor
Performing other general, non-trades services as directed
Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties
Maintaining clean workshop practices
Maintaining and performing all workshop practices in a manner that adheres to all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations

The Successful Applicant Will
A willingness to work a variety of shifts
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in working in a team setting on daily maintenance and repair schedules
Confidence in using computers and software packages
Be proactive with a drive to finding better ways to continuously improve and be adaptable in a dynamic and growing team
We are looking for real, not perfect individuals that are passionate and invested in achieving outcomes
e physically fit to carry out the necessities of the role which includes heavy lifting
Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check, and working with children check.
Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have unrestricted working rights in Australia
Hold a current Unrestricted Australian driver's licence issued by the relevant State
Highly Regarded
Experience in a similar role and environment is preferred, however, not necessary as we are willing to train and develop the right individuals for the position.
