About The Chance

To help us achieve this we are seeking a Mechanic Diesel Fitter to join our Fleet Services team within Community Infrastructure.
In this role, you will help ensure the reliability, safety and compliance of Council's plant, fleet and ferries through regular inspections, maintenance and repairs.
You'll be hands-on in diagnosing issues, responding to breakdowns, and keeping essential machinery and vehicles in top condition so our teams can continue delivering vital services to the community.
To be successful in this role you will
Be a proven team player with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to working safelyCertificate III in Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or relevant experience)Experience diagnosing and repairing a range of plant machineryKnowledge of obligations under current WHS legislationAbility to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environmentFlexibility to participate in an after-hours on-call roster
Remuneration And Benefits
Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $******* per week with the opportunity for competency-based progression up to $******* per week.
Allowances: Adverse Working Level 1 / Tool Allowance / On Call / Tool of Trade Vehicle
