Architectural Sales Representative - Premium Architectural Door Hardware
We're working with a premium architectural hardware brand that, as someone with an architectural background, I can genuinely say has earned its reputation the right way, through detail, restraint, and consistency rather than noise or over-marketing.
Their products are already being specified across some of Sydney's most considered high-end residential homes and boutique multi-res developments.
Not because they chase attention, but because architects and interior designers trust how the product performs on paper, in documentation, and most importantly, on site.
They are now looking for a Business Development Manager to take ownership of new opportunity creation across Sydney, a true "front end of the design process" role where influence happens early, not at the end.
This is very much a hunter role.
You'll be out in the market regularly, engaging with architects, interior designers, developers, and boutique builders, identifying projects at concept stage, and shaping specification outcomes long before tender.
From an architectural perspective, this is the kind of role that sits comfortably at the intersection of design understanding and commercial instinct.
You're not just selling hardware, you're translating architectural intent into a resolved, buildable detail.
The Role:
You will take responsibility for generating current specification opportunities across Sydney's premium residential and boutique commercial market.
Day-to-day this will involve:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with architects, interior designers, developers, and builders.

Identifying projects early in design and documentation phases.
Driving specification of premium architectural door hardware into prestigious residential projects.
Running presentations, CPD-style discussions, showroom meetings, and project consultations.
Reading drawings, schedules, and specifications with confidence and attention to detail.
Working closely with internal project and account teams to transition opportunities through to delivery.
Maintaining strong visibility and credibility within the Sydney A&D; community.
Managing your own pipeline, territory, and schedule with autonomy.
What We're Looking For:
The ideal person will already understand how the architectural specification / sales world really works, the pacing, the relationships, accurate information and the importance of timing.
You'll likely come from:
Architectural products, interiors, or specification-based sales.
Premium finishes such as hardware, lighting, surfaces, flooring, kitchens, tapware, or similar.
A strong A&D-facing; environment where relationships drive revenue.
You will also bring:
Proven success in a true new business / hunter-style BDM role.
An existing network within Melbourne architects and interior designers (highly regarded).

The ability to read architectural drawings and specifications confidently.
Strong commercial awareness with a good design eye.
Confidence discussing technical product detail without overcomplicating it.
A self-directed, disciplined approach to managing your own time and pipeline.
A low-ego, collaborative style, comfortable handing projects through to internal teams once specified.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Why This Role Feels Different:
From an architectural point of view, opportunities like this don't come up often.
You're joining a brand that already has credibility in the design community, meaning you're not trying to "introduce" something unfamiliar.
Instead, you're stepping into conversations that already exist and adding value at the right stage of the design process.
The environment is built around trust and autonomy.
If you've worked in architecture or specification sales, you'll understand the value of being left alone to do what you do well, getting out into practice, building relationships, and creating work through genuine engagement rather than internal reporting layers.
It's a role for someone who prefers outcomes over noise, and relationships over process-heavy sales structures.
Package:
$105,000 – $125,000 Base Salary + Super.
Strong, uncapped commission structure.
Premium showroom and product training provided.
Established brand reputation within the Sydney A&D; community.
Strong project pipeline and existing market presence.
Long-term progression opportunities within the business.
