Experienced Boat Builder / Aluminium Fabricator
Svensson Boats is seeking an experienced tradesperson to support the safe, efficient, and high-quality construction of custom aluminium recreational and commercial vessels up to 12 metres in length.
A solid background in aluminium boat building or aluminium fabrication is required along with the ability to complete fabrication to a high standard whilst following drawings and instructions to ensure that each custom build is completed to the high standard that is consistently expected.
The ability to train apprentices and act independently is also highly valued within this role.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high quality aluminium fabrication on boats and trailers using various tools including presses, welders, grinders, cutters and hand and pneumatic tools.
Ensure all vessels are constructed in accordance with design specifications, applicable standards, and quality requirements.
Lead, mentor,



and support apprentices, including on-the-job training and skills development.
Monitor vessel progress, identifying and resolving issues that may impact safety, quality, delivery schedules, or costs.
Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements, and safe work procedures.
Manage workshop materials, equipment, and consumables, ensuring productive utilisation and stock control.
Assist with vessel planning, scheduling and continuous improvement initiatives when requested.
Promote problem-solving, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout workshop operations.
Undertake other responsibilities as directed by management within the scope of the position.
