At the Wellington Correctional Centre, you'll combine your trade expertise with people leadership, mentoring both Trade Overseers and inmates while ensuring one of NSW's largest correctional facilities continues to operate safely and efficiently.

About the Role
As Senior Trade Overseer, you'll lead the electrical maintenance operations, mentor Overseers and develop inmates through practical workplace training that supports rehabilitation and future employment.
You'll plan and coordinate maintenance, manage resources and budgets, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, efficient, high-quality service delivery across the correctional complex.
What you'll do:
Lead, coach and mentor Overseers to achieve operational outcomes
Plan and oversee electrical maintenance across the correctional complex
Train and develop inmates in practical trade skills and work readiness
Promote a safe, professional and quality-focused workplace
Manage resources, budgets and workflows for efficient service delivery
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and Corrective Services NSW policies
Support offender rehabilitation through the Work Readiness Program

What you need:
Current Certificate III or higher in Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III level) in Electrical and Electro Technology
Must possess Related Trade qualification and hold a current related NSW Fair Trading Electrical Contractor Licence or Qualified Supervisor Certificate.
(ACMA Open Cabling Registration or equivalent industry approved qualification is desirable)
Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete within specified timeframes
Possess proven trade experience, coordinating trade staff and operational activity.
Current NSW Drivers Licence and preparedness to drive to locations as required
Experience which demonstrates the ability to meet the key accountabilities and focus capabilities as detailed in the Senior Overseer role description




Be willing to participate in a cyclic after-hours on-call roster, work overtime when required, work flexibly across trades to meet operational needs
