The Role
As a Senior Water or Sewerage Network Planning Engineer, you will hold a multifaceted role, working, guiding and managing a variety of engineering projects.
You will be responsible for technical project oversight and quality.




This position combines hands-on project leadership and mentorship to ensure the continued success of our consulting business.
You will have strong technical knowledge of hydraulics for pressurised and non-pressurised systems and experience in water or sewerage network modelling and master planning, as well as demonstrable competencies in GIS.
Extensive experience in commercial hydraulic modelling software such as InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWorks ICM, MIKE+, or SewerGEMS is required.
Key Duties
Integrated Project Management: Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle including scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
Implement project management best practices to ensure successful delivery on time and within budget
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project objectives with client expectations
Technical Project Delivery: Oversee the technical aspects of water or sewerage network planning projects ensuring compliance with engineering standards
Conduct site assessments to determine water flow and hydraulic considerations
Perform detailed hydraulic system analyses to ensure efficient and effective conveyance of water
Evaluate and optimise sewerage distribution networks
Work Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct comprehensive reviews of project deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards




Implement quality assurance measures to uphold DWS's reputation for high-quality engineering services
Mentorship and Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff fostering their professional growth
Encourage a collaborative and innovative work culture emphasising continuous learning
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field
5–10 years' proven experience in water or sewerage network planning and project management
Extensive experience in InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWorks ICM, MIKE+ or SewerGEMS
Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards and regulations
Project Management Skilled (PMP) certification is a plus
Proficiency in Autodesk software and other relevant engineering tools
Strong leadership and communication skills
You must currently have the right to work in Australia or New Zealand
