The Opportunity
We're looking for an experiencedEngineering Solutions Specialistto deliver advanced technical support and strengthen the technical foundations behind James Hardie's high‐performance product portfolio.
Reporting to the Technical Support & Claims Manager, you'll be the escalation point for Level 3 technical enquiries, supporting design, installation, compliance and construction solutions that sit beyond standard manuals.
You'll collaborate across Product Technical, Install, Sales, and R&D; teams to develop technical methodologies, maintain certification, and enhance the tools and documentation that support customers, specifiers, installers, and our internal teams.
This role plays a key part in uplifting technical capability, improving documentation clarity, and ensuring James Hardie continues to lead in product performance, compliance and trusted design solutions.
What You'll Do
Provide advanced Level 3 technical guidance and problem‐solving beyond standard published recommendations
Manage and improve technical services including Take‐Offs, calculators, and the Value Equation program
Support development and continuous improvement of technical documentation, tools, collateral and construction guidance
Assist with product compliance certification (e.g. CodeMark) and maintain alignment with regulatory standards
Collaborate cross‐functionally to identify opportunities for new technical resources and product‐supporting solutions
Support building‐science content creation, installer training and technical enablement initiatives across the business
Assist in managing the technical investigation, root cause analysis and resolution of product-related claims, driving outcomes and continuous improvement
What you'll bring
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or related discipline and demonstrated experience working in the building industry
Strong understanding of Australian residential construction, regulations, building science and engineering
Ability to partner across commercial and technical functions effectively, managing multiple priorities with high execution quality
Solid communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a hands‐on approach
Commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical insights into value‐adding solutions
Proficiency with AutoCAD and construction‐detailing tools
