The Precision Tooling (PT) Department is based in Sydney and forms a part of the Global Moulding Function.
Within the Precision Tooling Department, we are working to deliver high-quality LSR injection moulds and automation to our internal customers using the latest industrial technology.
The CNC Machinist is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of CNC mills, EDM and wirecutting machines to produce high-quality parts that meet the manufacturing schedule.
The CNC Machinist will use CAM to create complex toolpaths to ensure parts are manufactured to the required specific tion.
The CNC Machinist must also perform troubleshooting of the machines to ensure they are functioning optimally.
CNC Machinists are required to review & validate CAM programs & manufactured parts by CMM inspection
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
CAM Programming, creation of complex CAM strategies, set up and safe operation of CNC machines and other precision machining equipment
Mould/tool/ & equipment manufacturing, machining, finishing, assembly, & testing.
Support the Projects teams to define performance specifications or functional requirements for new tooling projects.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation on all assigned tasks, as and when required.
Follow process and work instructions to ensure safe, repeatable & quality results.
Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable processes.




Analyse and take appropriate steps throughout the life of the project and associated tasks to minimize risk to the company.
Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner and meet legislative requirements, company policies and ISO requirements.
Ensure that our customer's products and tooling are capable of being manufactured, supplied and supported in an efficient manner.
Support team members to achieve set goals and objectives and work to continue to grow and develop a positive team-based culture.
Assist in continuous improvement projects by evaluating processes and make recommendations to improve productivity, quality & cost.
Perform and document pre delivery inspection processes to ensure the highest quality tooling projects are delivered safely to our clients across the globe
Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
On time and on budget delivery of tooling projects that meet performance, cost and quality expectations and which support business growth plans.
Successful transfer of current moulds, tools, technologies and processes to ResMed manufacturing.
Qualifications and Experience
Required
5 years' experience in creating complex CAM programs for mould tooling.
5 years CNC machining experience.
Broad understanding of CNC machining & cutter technologies.
Experience with plastics injection moulding.
Preferred
Qualifications in CNC programming, Toolmaking, Machining, or Engineering.
Minimum 4 years in a Toolmaking environment, with direct & relevant experience in CNC programming.
