Latrobe Regional Health is looking forLLE Family Carer Lead and Consultantto join our growing team on aFixed Term – 23 months, Part time basis 0.5FTE.
The Family-Carer Lived/Living Experience (LLE) Manager & Senior Consultant is a senior leadership role responsible for leading and supporting the Family-Carer LLE workforce across Mental Health and Wellbeing Services.
Drawing on lived experience as family member, carer, supporter, or kin of someone experiencing mental health challenges, the role provides workforce leadership, supervision, strategic advice, service improvement expertise, and advocacy to ensure family and carer perspectives are embedded in service delivery, planning, governance, and mental health reform initiatives.

The role of the LLE Family Carer Lead and Consultant is to:
Lead, supervise, mentor, and support Family-Carer LLE staff across multiple service streams.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, professional development, and retention strategies.
Deliver expert guidance on family-carer inclusion, lived experience practice, governance, policy development, and service improvement.
Ensure the voices of families, carers, supporters, and kin are embedded in service design, evaluation, co-design, and decision-making processes.
Contribute to the implementation of key mental health reforms,
legislation, and human rights-based approaches.
Work closely with consumer lived experience leaders, multidisciplinary teams, community organisations, and state wide lived experience networks.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:
You have lived experience as family member, carer, supporter, or kin of a person living with mental health challenges.
You bring demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a Family-Carer Lived Experience, mental health, or peer support environmentand a minimum of 2 years in designated Family-Carer Lived Experience roles
You have a strong understanding of recovery-oriented, family-inclusive, and human rights-based practice.
You are skilled at building cooperative relationships and influencing positive change across diverse stakeholder groups.
You are passionate about advocacy, co-design, and ensuring family and carer voices are meaningfully represented.
You possess excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills, with the ability to support workforce development and service improvement initiatives.
