Role Overview
Reporting to the Manager Financial Services, this is an exciting opportunity to lead Council's Business Partnering team and continue developing a finance function as a trusted advisor across the organisation.
Leading a team of finance professionals, you will coach and develop your people, strengthen stakeholder relationships and embed a genuine business partnering approach that moves beyond transactional finance to delivering value, insight and commercial support.
Working closely with leaders across Council, you will provide strategic financial advice, guide budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning while helping the organisation make informed decisions that support sustainable outcomes for the community.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop the Business Partnering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
Partner with leaders across Council to provide strategic financial advice and support informed decision making.
Oversee Council's budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes.
Deliver high-quality management reporting, financial analysis and performance insights.
Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, reporting and business partnering practices.
Support strategic planning through financial modelling, business case analysis and resource planning.
Strengthen financial capability across the organisation through coaching and stakeholder engagement.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
CPA or CA qualified with tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.




Significant experience in a senior finance leadership, finance business partnering or management accounting role.
Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
Robust experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and strategic financial planning.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
Advanced financial analysis, modelling and problem-solving capability.
Experience driving service improvement, financial governance and organisational performance.
