Applications from Careers Education specialists are invited for the position of Careers Counsellor for Years 6-12 commencing in Term 1, ****. This is a pivotal role in our College in coordinating the careers education program for our secondary school, with a particular focus on work experience, senior studies pathways, tertiary studies applications, and learner engagement. The Careers Counsellor works closely with our senior studies team to advocate for authentic and diverse learning programs for our secondary students, as well as assisting families with navigating the different pathways available to experience success in the secondary phase of learning.
We are looking for someone who places individual student wellbeing and success at the heart of their work. This can look different for each student depending on their God-given talents and abilities; Good Shepherd recognises that there are many pathways to success beyond schooling. For some, this means further study through university, for others it means a vocational pathway, or just some time to explore the world around them. About us
Good Shepherd is a co-educational Prep to Year 12 Lutheran College that serves the families of the breathtakingly beautiful Noosa district on the Sunshine Coast. Centrally located 130kms from the Brisbane CBD, Good Shepherd Lutheran College is situated on a 9.5hectare campus. The College has a total enrolment of approximately**** students. Our College is part of the ministry of The Lutheran Church in Queensland and has solid ties to the Noosa Lutheran Parish. Good Shepherd has built a recognised record of both academic success and Christian care.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Demonstrated commitment to Christian education.
Significant and broad knowledge and experience across the areas of responsibility.
Proven administrative skills necessary to fulfil the role of Careers Counsellor, including evidence of well-developed planning, organisational, resource management and IT skills.
Demonstrated skills of effective communication in a variety of modes and contexts.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills including confidence, flexibility, confidentiality, teamwork, innovation and perseverance.
Demonstrated teaching skills in careers and classroom education.
