Are you passionate about Positive Behaviour Support and making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities and their families?
Interchange Outer East (IOE) is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Allied Health and Behaviour Support team.
This is a permanent position with flexibility to work either 0.8 FTE (30.5 hours per week) or 1.0 FTE (38 hours per week), depending on the successful applicant.
Based at our Ferntree Gully office, you'll work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred behaviour support that promotes human rights, inclusion and positive outcomes.

About the role
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will:
Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs)
Develop, implement and review Behaviour Support Plans
Provide specialist behaviour support and intervention
Identify and support the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices




Deliver training and coaching to families, support workers and other stakeholders
Work collaboratively with participants, families and multidisciplinary professionals to achieve positive outcomes
This role is based in Ferntree Gully and may require occasional work outside standard business hours to meet participant, family and organisational needs.
About you
You'll bring:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology or another discipline recognised by the Victorian Senior Practitioner
Experience working with people with disabilities and their families
Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and a strong commitment to human rights-based practice
Experience supporting people with behaviours of concern
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A collaborative approach and the ability to work independently
Initiative, flexibility and a genuine passion for improving outcomes for participants

Pre-employment requirements
The successful applicant will be required to hold or obtain:
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working with Children Check
Current First Aid certification (HLTAID011 or equivalent)
Manual Handling training
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
